A New Man (The Continuing Story)
A New Beginning - February 19, 1974 and On
On February 19, 1974 A new man was born in a traveling gospel tent spread over a field in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. The man knelt before the Lord of Glory in deep repentance and prayed, "Lord Jesus please forgive me for my wicked life and please make me the kind of person who loves others more than he loves himself. God met him there and flooded his spirit with incredible cleansing of body, heart, mind and soul in such a way that it seemed like he and God were alone there; even though a crowd of people were present at the time. The change was complete and overwhelming and peace came to the one who had suffered all his life - a peace that truly passes all understanding! An evil man knelt and a new man took his place!
The next morning the new man joined the ministry that helped him come to know the Lord and he traveled with them for a little over a year. That morning he was given a Bible and taken to a street corner to witness to his faith, even to complete strangers. His new found faith made that an exciting prospect because he loved to tell everyone he could all about how Jesus transformed his life. On that day the Lord worked a miracle in his life that further solidified his faith.
He began to reach out to passers-by on the street of Ft Lauderdale by saying, "Jesus Loves You" to everyone that he could. Finally one couple stopped and came back toward him, and he knew he didn't know what to say next. In desperation he prayed, "God, if you want me to do this you are going to have to help me!" The couple came up to him and asked him what he was doing, and when he told them they began to ask him questions about the Bible and salvation. He was amazed to hear himself quoting scripture even though he hadn't read a Bible in over 15 years. When he asked the leaders of the ministry how that could have happened, they told him how the Bible says the Holy Spirit will bring things to your rembrance when you need them. 15 years earlier he wanted to get a Bible for his mom with her name on it, but he had no money to buy it so a preacher told him that if he would read the New Testament through he would give him a Bible with his mom's name on it. He read it faithfully and was rewarded for it, but he never knew the impact that would have on his first day as a Christian. The Holy Spirit reached back into his memory and gave those people the answers that they were looking for leaving the young man scratching his head in amazement. 36 years later he is still amazed.
From that time on this young man has been blessed to see God work many more miracles in his life. He has seen many people healed in answer to prayer and many of those healings were instant. He has been used to cast devils out of people and houses, graduate Bible college, sing for the Lord, preach, teach, counsel, work in administration in ministry, write and publish a book, marry a wonderful woman of God and help her raise seven special children who all know and love the Lord Jesus Christ. From an empty life God gave him a full one.

who paid the price for our

of honor, glory and praise!
We seriously err when we
take glory that belongs to him!
