God's Holiness
Exodus 15:11 - "Who is like unto thee, O' Lord.......glorious in holiness?"
Holiness is the absolute purity of God and it is unalterable and perfect!
“God’s holiness is not simply the best we know infinitely bettered. We know nothing like the divine holiness. It stands apart, unique, unapproachable, incomprehensible, and unattainable.” Holy is the way God is. To be holy he does not conform to a standard. He is that standard. A W Tozer
Again, I must quote from that great man of God A W Tozer as he writes in regard to God’s holiness. AND HERE, ONCE MORE, I MUST URGE THE STUDENT TO MEDITATE ON THE THOUGHTS OF THIS GREAT MAN OF GOD FOR YOUR PROFIT AND FOR WHAT YOU MAY GAIN THAT WILL ASSIST YOU IN MINISTERING TO OTHERS AS I AM DOING NOW!
1. “God is holy with an absolute holiness that knows no degrees, and this he cannot impart to his creatures. But there is a relative and contingent holiness which he shares with angels and seraphim in heaven and with redeemed men on earth as their preparation for heaven. This holiness God can and does impart to his children. He shares it with them by imputation and by impartation, and because he has made it available to them through the blood of the lamb, he requires it of them.” To Israel first and later to his church God spoke saying, ‘Be ye holy for I am holy.’ He did not say, be ye holy as I am holy, for that would be to demand of us absolute holiness; something that belongs to God alone.”
2. God is holy, and he has made holiness the moral condition necessary to the health of his universe. Sin’s temporary presence in the world only accents this. Whatever is holy is healthy; evil is a moral sickness that must end ultimately in death. The formation of the language itself suggests this; the English word holy deriving from the Anglo-Saxon halig, hal, meaning, “well, whole.”
Since God’s first concern for his universe is its moral health, that is, its holiness, whatever is contrary to this is necessarily under his eternal displeasure. To preserve his creation God must destroy whatever would destroy it. He hates iniquity as a mother hates the polio that would take the life of her child.”
Holiness is purity. In God’s case it is absolute purity at a level we cannot attain to in this life. It is the absolute essence of all that is good and honorable in life and worth striving
for no matter what the cost.
Here then are some questions that you should consider and research for yourself. Since the Bible says that without holiness no man shall see the Lord, what price are we willing to pay to attain to this holiness? (Hebrews 12:14) If this holiness is imparted to us as Tozer says, then what, if any, conditons must be met to receive this impartation? If no man can
"see" the Lord without this holiness, what does it mean to see the Lord since the scripture also teaches that no man has seen God at any time and no man can see God and live? Is
the Bible contradicting itself? If this is true, and we want to see the Lord, what's next?

The Angels in heaven cried out, Holy, holy, holy is the Lord. I am wondering if we should not be crying out as we look around the earth Sinful, sinful, sinful is all of mankind, and falling down on our faces and crying out to God for his mercy to be extended to everyone on this planet! Mankind is opposite God in all his purity. We are evil and unclean and absolutely wicked and unworthy to even consider the mercy extended to us. If we were all to receive our just reward there would be no question that every person who ever lived would be an inhabitant of Hell and the Lake of fire forever. Our lives are offensive to God who is perfection in every way and pure beyond all human understanding!
Holy, holy, holy! If the words were repeated thousands and thousands of times without end we would be no closer to understanding God's holiness than we are when we are first forgiven and accepted by Him! That is what this class is intended to do; stretch your imagination to the breaking point! It's intended
to create a great hunger in every student so that no matter how much they have gained they will never come to be satisfied but will want more and more of God and want to be more and more like Christ! Please meditate on and absorb what you are taught here.
